最近の話題は、何といっても、以下のヒトクローンに関する論文でしょう。

５月２７日現在で、２６個ものコメントがついています。ついに、このサイトのコメントに端を発して、雑誌Cell(セル)がこの論文の複数の図の画像に小さなミスがあることを公表しました。
実験そのものに間違いはないと、代表著者だけでなくセル誌も言っているので、科学的成果には影響がないとの判断なのでしょう。
Nature誌にも、この件が話題になっています。また、新聞等にも報じられています。
一般的なフォーラムを提供する上では、非常に有用なサイトで、このようなサイトの存在はいいアイデアではないかと思います。
また、論文に不正がないように公開的に相互監視をおこなって、守るべきルールや倫理が遵守されているかどうかのいいチェックにもなるでしょう。
一方、出版された論文のいきすぎた「あら探し」になったり、コメントやその論文に対する反論がレビューされずに、そのままコメントとして自由に書き込めるので、根拠のないコメントも出てくる可能性もあります。
今後、どうこの「PbuPeer」サイトが位置づけられていくのか、サイエンス・コミュニティとしても重要な関心をもって注目しておく必要があるように想います。
